What Activepieces does

Activepieces is an open-source platform for workflow automation and AI agents. Teams build flows and agents that connect more than 760 apps, run them in the cloud or on their own servers, and expose them to AI clients through MCP.

Activepieces is a workspace where teams automate work with flows, AI agents, chat, and tables. A flow starts with a trigger, such as a new payment or a closed deal, and runs a series of actions across your apps. You can describe what you want in plain words and let chat draft the flow, then refine it in the visual builder with branching, retries, waitpoints, subflows, error handling, and human approvals. Where a step needs custom logic, you can write TypeScript inline.

AI agents take a task described in plain language and work out the steps themselves. An agent can use every app you have connected and any MCP server you point it at, and you can require approval for steps that touch money, customers, or production. Tables store data that any flow or agent can read and write without setting up a database, and chat pages let people use an automation through its own link.

The integration library has more than 760 pieces, and every piece is MIT-licensed and built in the open by hundreds of contributors. An HTTP piece can reach any REST or GraphQL endpoint. Activepieces also runs one MCP server per project, so Claude, Cursor, Codex, or any other MCP client can call your connected apps as tools; this is free on every plan.

The core is open source under the MIT license, and you can self-host it for free. Deployment options include the managed cloud, your own servers, or a fully air-gapped setup. For larger organizations there are projects per team, SSO with Okta or Entra, roles, audit logs streamed to a SIEM, your own secret manager, and bring-your-own AI keys and models.

The Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month, unlimited flows, agents, tables, MCP, and API access. Plus costs $20 per month flat for up to 5 users and 10,000 credits, and Team costs $200 per month for 25 users with SSO and unlimited projects. Ultimate and Embed plans, which put the builder inside your own product under your brand, are priced through sales.

Best for

Business and technical teams that want to automate work across many apps and roll out AI agents with governance, in the cloud or self-hosted.

Not for

Individuals who only need a single simple two-app integration, or teams that want no automation platform to learn.
