What Flighty does
Flighty is a flight tracking app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It tracks your flights with live data, alerts you to delays and gate changes, predicts delays from the inbound aircraft, and keeps a log of past trips.
Flighty tracks commercial flights and tells you what is happening before, during, and after a trip. You add flights by hand or import them from your calendar, TripIt, or forwarded emails. The app then shows gate, departure time, baggage belt, and booking code, and sends notifications when something changes.
The main focus is delays. Flighty follows the inbound aircraft for your flight 25 hours ahead and uses machine learning to predict delays caused by late-arriving planes, up to six hours before the airline says anything. It also reads Air Traffic Control advisories, such as ground stops and weather programs, and explains how they may affect your flight. The app uses pilot-grade data, including FAA and Eurocontrol sources.
Flighty Friends lets you share your flights with family and friends once, so they get their own notifications when you take off or land. Flighty Passport builds a record of all your past flights, with stats on distance, aircraft, seats, and time lost to delays, and you can import older flights. Flighty Airports shows live arrivals, departures, and conditions at more than 14,000 airports.
The free version has no ads and includes unlimited flight tracking, live data, Flighty Friends, Passport, the Apple Watch app, and widgets, with past flight import limited to 365 days. Flighty Pro adds alerts before the airlines, delay and gate predictions, Live Activities, calendar sync, email and TripIt import, a connection assistant, and unlimited history. Pro is $4.99 per month billed annually at $59.99, and all Pro features are free for your first flight. Weekly, lifetime, and family plans also exist.
Flighty was founded by Ryan, Markus, and Francesc and is made in Austin, Barcelona, and Oslo. It won an Apple Design Award in 2023. No account is required, and flight details are visible only to you.
