What WaterChamp does

WaterChamp is an iOS hydration tracker that helps you track water intake, set daily hydration goals, and stay consistent with reminders and widgets.

WaterChamp tracks what you drink and shows your hydration as a live level that rises when you drink and slowly drains between drinks. The level drops faster while you are active and slower while you sleep, so it reflects your whole day instead of a single daily total.

You log drinks from a built-in list that runs from espresso to boba. Each drink has its own hydration, caffeine, alcohol and calorie values, so milk counts for more than water and spirits count for nothing. You can change any drink's numbers or build your own custom drink with its own container, colour and serving size.

Caffeine gets its own curve. WaterChamp estimates how much caffeine is still in you at bedtime and finds the latest time you can have another coffee and still be ready for sleep. A reminder warns you just before that cutoff, and a separate hydration reminder arrives before you are predicted to run low.

Your daily goal starts from your weight and adjusts for activity and climate. On iPhone the app writes water and caffeine to Apple Health and reads your workouts and sleep; on Android it uses Health Connect. Nothing is uploaded to the developer.

Streaks, daily check-ins and 29 collectable stickers reward steady drinking through the day, and home and lock screen widgets show your level without opening the app. WaterChamp is free on the App Store and Google Play.

Best for

People who want to drink enough water through the day and keep caffeine from hurting their sleep.

Not for

People who need medical fluid tracking or clinical nutrition logging.

Questions, answered by the maker

Does coffee count toward my daily water intake?

Yes. Black coffee has a hydration factor of 1.00 in WaterChamp, and a latte counts a little more because of the milk. Caffeine is tracked separately on its own curve.

How does WaterChamp set my daily goal?

It starts at about 26 ml per kilogram of body weight, then adjusts for age, sex, activity level and climate, and adds water on days you burn more calories.

When should I stop drinking caffeine before bed?

WaterChamp estimates how much caffeine remains at bedtime and shows the latest time you can have another cup and still be ready for sleep. It reminds you just before that cutoff.

Does it work with Apple Health or Health Connect?

Yes. On iPhone it writes water and caffeine to Apple Health and reads workouts and sleep. On Android it syncs with Health Connect.

Is WaterChamp free?

Yes. WaterChamp is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.
